May 2025: Panels, Connecticut

The Panels project was created as part of a course I was taking at University. The assignment was to create a self portrait as a collection. I had spent most of my time in the course creating experimental drawing so I thought it would be nice to go back to making what got me into drawing at first, comics.

Each individual “panel” is a standalone artwork implying a larger story that does not exist. Instead of a traditional linear story, the panels can be shuffled around to create new meanings, as in real life you can pick and choose what parts of yourself you may give to another person.

I experimented with this concept the most in the distribution of the Panels project. Initially a limited run of around twelve zines were made with personalized content for a special group of people. Later about fifty zines were circulated to random people with five different combinations of artworks.
